Doug Speight is the Chief Executive Officer of AxNano, a venture-backed company developing hardware platforms to capture and destroy emerging contaminants such as PFAS (“forever chemicals”). A seasoned entrepreneur, Doug has founded five technology startups spanning engineering design, advanced materials, additive manufacturing, fintech, and enterprise software. His career includes leading technology transfer and commercialization efforts at NC A&T State University, NASA, and the U.S. Department of Energy, where he helped launch numerous startups. Doug has also served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Google for Startups, CODE2040, and the GIGTANK venture accelerator at Co.Lab. He holds a degree from NC A&T State University and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
